Al Morrow is National Team Head Women's Rowing Coach, Al Morrow, returned to Canada from the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games having coached athletes to gold-silver and bronze medal performances.
This feat is a sequel to the triple-gold medal performance of athletes he coached at the Barcelona Olympic Games in 1992. His 26 years with the Canadian national team have been outstanding. He has coached or rowed at five Olympic Games and 12 World Championships.
Two of the rowers he coached, Marnie McBean and Kathleen Heddle, made history with their Atlanta victory by becoming the first Canadians to win three Olympic gold medals in any sport. Equally as impressive is that Al has coached 21 crews at the World Championships or Olympic Games in the last 6 years and 15 have won medals 9 of these Gold. All 22 women he coached at the 1992 and 1996 Olympics won a medal.
