It was Bob’s radical business makeovers for his own clients as well as the Los Angeles Times that drew national attention for his clients due to their uncommon growth and success. This earned him many monikers, including “The Category Killer-Killer” and “The Starbucks Solution.” Along the way he spoke to some of the best-known retail brands including Hunter Douglas, Husqvarna-Viking, Caswell-Massey, Brother and True Value.

His speech You Can Compete and subsequent book were the basis for Do-It-Best Hardware's "How to Beat the Big Box Competition" kit for their 4400 members.

Phibbs “hands on” experiences in running successful retail operations taught him the hard way how to create exceptional experiences for both employees and customers. He takes these experiences and, with the creativity and enthusiasm of a prophet, teaches his successful techniques to businesses and associations across the world.

Bob Phibbs’ programs and his work have been featured on PBS Life and Times, Entrepreneur magazine, QSR, Fast Casual, the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal.
