Karen Shadd-Evelyn, author of "I'd Rather live in Buxton", has also published a variety of poems, short stories, biographies and articles.  She is a member of the Antiracism and Ethnocultural Equity Committee for the London Board of Education, the Congress of Black Women of Canada and the Canadian Artist's Network.

She specializes in public education seminars, workshops, forums on writing, multiculturalism and race relations.
